Performance air intake

K&N has just come out with a performance air intake system for my "05 Dakota 3.7L.Any input from members with experience with K&N air intake setups? Stock throttle response absolutely SUCKS and I am desperate to improve on it and willing to spend bucks short of taking out a second mortgage on my house.Need response ASAP.Thanks.

Re: Performance air intake

It's a six cylinder. If you were really that serious about spending money, you would have bought an eight.

No?

Re: Performance air intake

try getting an underdrive pulley, if you can't find one for the 3.7, you can put one from a 4.7 V8, the 3.7 is only a 4.7 w/ 2 cylinders chopped off. Check constantly and get in contact w/ aftermarket performance upgrade companies such as Hypertech & Superchips to get performance upgrades for you motor. If you're going to second mortgage your home, what ever money you have left over, trade-in your present truck and get a 4.7 HO Dakota. Or if you're really serious about more power, it's $30,000+ get a Ram 1500 HEMI. Check with aftermarket exhaust companies like Magnaflow or Flowmaster and see if they have any cat-back systems available and/or headers. If you're really desperate, NOS is the way to go. For about $400, you can get an 80-125 HP shot.
