renault megane rt classic '97

Hi everybody,

I have a Renault Megane rt Classic '97. My key stopped working and therefore I cannot open with central locking system, and therefore cannot disable the immobiliser, which results in not being able to drive the car. Already I have changed the batteries in my key. Before I have it towed to the Renault garage and pay vast amounts of money, can somebody please advise me on what to do to fix it, or disconnect the Immobiliser entirely. Your help is much appreciated!
