Unhappy BMW 320D 2001 Rear indicator problem

Hi,

I have a 320D E46 registerd in November 2001

The rear tail light warning light comes on, and the left rear indicator stops working.

I have replaced the blub and it work fine for the duration of the journey.

I started up the car again an hour later, same problem. But when I turn on the lights, the problem disappears.

I think I may have a faulty circuit, as the left tail lights are dimmer than the right tail light.

Can anyone advise on this problem.

You help would be much appreicated, as I would like to avoid the £70 change to have it looked at.

Thank you for your time

Your connection to the light cluster may be faulty. Remove the light cluster and check the connection points where the bulb socket mounts to, they also burn and cause the light not to work.

Lightbulb Result

Spot on mate, I have checked the connection point, socket and one pin has burnt out. Used a bit of foil to fix the problem till the parts come through. Will this make the problem worst using a bit of foil.

Thanks loads
