newbie.

hello all..first off let me give you a quick rundown. my name is matt and this is my first suv. i currently have a 88 chevy with a built 355 and had a 98 trans am that was set up for the strip with a 500 horse stalled auto. I sold it bc i got tired of working on it..after rebuilding the motor twice from my right foot,changing stall converters several times, and going through many many stages of nitrous to get my time consistant..i gave up and got a blazer. i have been working on autos for many many years,, i have R+R'd many engines and trannies, as well as converted several cars from fuel injection to carb and vice versa..i joined the site to learn about the engine and all the components associated with it.like all things everything is new to you once and so this 4.3 is foreign to me. although it looks like your basic setup, i still would like to know a little info on it. give me about a year and i will prolly have a ls1 in it..hahah anyway ive got a question..i just bought my blazer ..its a dr 2wd 2000 model with 46k on it. The blazer seems to have a bad hesitation problem. it feels to me like the converter is plugged or soemthing. i checked the fuel filter the other day and it was fine.. i know everyone is going to recommend a cap/rotor/plug change..it prolly does need it but i dont see that causting this severe hesttation that im feeling.. the vehicle only has 46k and seems to have been serviced by gm regularly. (delco air filter, good shape, delco fuel filter in good shape) etc. ive worked on several cars over the years and th ebest way i know to describe it is it feels like a tq converter slipping..you can nail it and it will pull then kind of die then pull again..like a slipping tranny. the fluid looks and smells good, the car is throwing no codes. i need to get autotap and see what my 02's are reading and see if its rich/lean and determine if they are switching properly,as well as see what my maf is reading. i dont know very much about this particluar engine but i do know a little about fuel injection. i will attempt to change the plugs wires cap rotor at my next available time..thing is the car is still under warranty for about 2k more miles and i want to know what is going on with it before the warranty is up. If its the tranny, it needs to go now so i can have it fixed under warranty. i doubt the dealer will do a line pressure test on it or say that my cat is bad since they have to replace it if its under 75k.i kind of want to know what it is before i go in so i can say look this is whats wrong i want it fixed..instead of ..well we dont know...until the warranty is gone and they dont have to deal with it anymore..
matt

no its not any of that. i had my buddy scan it with the new delphi system. Its one of the most advanced systems out their today. It kicks the crap out of the tech II's the gm guys use. anyway it turned out to be a misadjusted tps. The voltage on the tps was just a hair from tripping the ses light. it drives alot better now. i did have a cosmetic question for you guys though. im wanting some new wheels..i really dont care for 20s and so forth. i would really like a set of 18 inch gumetal gray or black with polished lip..i cant seem to find any i like that have the correct offset and bolt pattern for my blazer..anyone have any recmomendations? ive tried ebay,discount tire,tirerack, and googled the crap out of "blazer wheels" ..the only ones ive found that i really really like are these but they are 20 inch.

Re: newbie.

there are lots of 18 inch option on ebay, you just have to see the other cars with the same offset and bolt pattern.

i know the bolt pattern is a 4x120 ..what is the correct or mostly used offset on the blazer? i would like a wheel that sits fairly flush with the body of the vehicle.

Bolt Pattern: 5 x 4.75
I think a +40mm offset will stick out about 1/2 inch, you would have to double check...

4.75 = 120mm
