91 grand prix engine

I havea 91 gp with the 4 cy motot dont know exACT size. Driving home tonite and it died on the road while driving. When i try to start it up now just squeels and barley turns over. Anybody have any ideas. Car has approx.130K and motor as approx 80K.

Your car has the 2.5 4cyl and your timing gears have worn out. These cars have a fiber cam gear and steel crank gear with no timing chain. When the cam gear finally wears out, it falls apart and no longer engages the crank, so the engine will not run and it makes a nasty sound. Hopefully you weren't running at high RPM when it quit, otherwise you could have bent some valves and caused extensive internal damage.
