i need some advice

this is about selling my car. please dont flame me on this one. i have been back and forth and i cant decide what i shall do. my parents recommended i get others people advice.

I have a 1984 Camaro 2.8 before i got it the engine had been replaced with another 2.8 out of a 83 truck. the engine had a bad knock so i replaced it with one out of a 1989 firebird ( i ditched all the mpfi stuff)

i'd like to sell it and get a v8, the v6 feels awfully sluggish and not alot of aftermarket support for it. i have always wanted to build up a street car to atleast beat the 300hp mark that cant be done with the v6 ( or not practical anyway) i'd like to sell my car for $1000 and save for a v8 or get one that needs a little work . i dont have a liscense ( i've had the permit for quite a while all i need to do is go take the test) so there aint a whole lot of need for a car right now.......my biggest worry is that i'll sell the car and then i wont be able to find another v8 camaro.....then im out of a car..........v8's get more power and the same or better gas mileage than the 2.8. what would you do??
if you think this is stupid just dont reply

I guess the whole quiestion is: if you were in my situation would you keep the v6 or sell for a v8??

I'd suggest looking for a trade.. I bet someone would be willing with a V8 if they're worried about gas.

Now if the car doesnt have that many miles you could go for about 1500 if you sell it. I think the best thing for you to do is find a 3.4 V6 Camaro or a 3.8 Bullet-proof (Doesnt include windows btw) Camaro. Hell it isnt hard to reach the 300 HP mark with a 3.8, they're pretty fast and Philly did it too with bottle feeding it.

i thought that the 2.8's didnt gt any better gas mileage than the v8? im not sure about the miles the odometer says 35,000 but i have no idea how many times it has rolled over though
and 88.....i know i have been drolling for v8's for a while your the one that has convinced me to do something ( i,e put up or shutup)
it is in not good condition . im not quiet sure if i can get 1k out of it though.........new gaskets new fuel pump 13 miles on engine change ( i still need to drive more to see its quirks) starts easy pump gas 3-4 times ,start it rev it a few times....then it purrrs......im tired of seeing all the junk 3rd gen round here there everywhere and they all have rust holes big enough to drive through mine is pretty much rust free, straight body.........i guess it is in good condition minus the interior the interior is the worst part

Even though I want a V8 F-body.. I just cant give up on my Camaro, I got something to prove, especially to my brother. What's that, you're asking? I gotta prove him WRONG. He tells me to just sell the Camaro and drive my mom's F150, HELL NAH. Even though my Camaro is a badass paperweight, i'll work on that thing before I completely give up.
