dual exhaust

i have a 2002 2500 hd silverado with a 8.1 liter motor i was wondering if any one has tried out the new muffler from flowmaster the series 50 big block that has 2 -3 inch pipes into muffler and 2 -2.5 inch pipes coming out. i was looking to go with it but wondered if anyone has tried it. i was told that if i went with 2- 3 inch in/out glass packs with the duals i would get peek performance anyone got any input, it would help thanks fred

Re: dual exhaust

What ever you do make sure you get Stainless Steel....
I prefer Magnaflow over Flushmaster but that comes down to personal preference of sound and perceived performance. Hard to buy three different muffler set ups, run dyno's and then return the ones you don't want....

Stainless Steel always and forever, Amen. I'll never go near anything else.

Magnaflow does make a great muffler. I'm a personal fan of Borla and Corsa.

Re: dual exhaust

Nobody has a cat back for the 345hp SS setup yet so for now I am out of the shopping picture. Once one of them produces a set of 3" stainless duals I will give them my loyal support.....

Re: dual exhaust

I would not get Flowshits. They suck. I have one and I hate it.
I'm going with magnaflow

If you want the flowmaster sound...go for it. As far as flow test goes, there is no comparison of a flowmaster with a Borla or Magnaflow. I loved my Borla turbo muffler, but I went with the magnaflow for my dual setup. I love the sound, especially with the addition of headers and no cats.

If you want dual exhaust go to www.pypesexhaust.com. They have a a real dual exhaust kit that bolts right up to 8.1 trucks, only 8.1's though i believe. Personally i think they sound better than flowmaster, there a fairly new company i think, but im pretty impressed with the stuff they have on their site.

All I have are straight pipes, no mufflers, no cats. On a 350.
