To make it simple torque is the power that the tire is spinning has. Thats the simpliest way I can put it. Its important because the stronger it is, I guess you can say the more power it has. o0.

I would buy the BMW. It just looks better when its lowered with a wide body kit with some deep dish rims ^^

you mean like in a spec sheet? Like how it says 350WHP/ 6000RPM 280 Torque @ 4000RPM? Things like that?

that is just telling you the horsepower and torque numbers in the specific RPM. Different cars will have it higher or maybe even lower. It depends on the car. If that isn't what you were asking then make it more clear haha because I got a little confused. =)

Re: Torque

like when the 2005 infiniti G35 saystorque on manual transmision is 260lb-ft@4800rpm and the 2005 BMW 325i says is 175@3500
do this means that the bmw will have torque at lower RPM
that means it will be faster? the BMW

Not really.
You have to think of it like this. Torque is for when you take off, and horsepower is after you take off. Just because the specs say that the BMW has this much torque at this much RPM and it the RPM is lower than the G35 doesn't mean that its faster. For a car to be faster than another car, there is more to it then just the horsepower and torque. There is also weight, suspension, and of course the driver. I don't know much about the BMW so I really can't say if it is faster or not.
Also take a look at the numbers, even though the RPM for the BMW is lower then the G35 the numbers are still smaller. G35 = 260lbs BMW = 175lbs.

I never heard anyone say that before. I don't think it will become more rough. Maybe it has more power it is harder to idle properly, but the ride being rougher? Never heard of anything like that happening because of torque. o.0 So I really can't answer that question because I don't know the answer. Maybe someone here who knows more about cars than I do can tell you. =) Chance for me to learn something also.
