fmic vs fuel

I have a 93 stealth r/t tt with a k&n filter, 3"down pipe, 3" testpipe, 3" exhaust and i'm boosting 14 psi on stock turbos. What would give me more power, a FMIC or 550 injectors with an safc?? I also wanted to know how difficult it is to fabricate my own custom FMIC? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!!

from my experience, neither the FMIC or 550cc injectors will benefit you unless you upgrade turbos. Your stock turbos are already maxed out at 14 psi so neither will really benefit at the current settings. Now, do a turbo upgrade along with one or the other, you'll start seeing some power.

As far as building your own FMIC, its not too terribly hard. You will need a core, and then you will need to find mandrel bent piping, and then silicon couplers and clamps. A lot of people just go ahead and go with the PPE Engineering FMIC because it includes everything for around $1100 and its bolt on.

I made my own FMIC kit, but i was not left a choice due to having an auto tranny. None of the piping kits are designed to fit around it. I will finally receive my freshly repainted bumper tomorrow, so after i put it on, i will snap some pictures. I have another thread regarding my FMIC, i will post them in that thread, which of course will be bumped back up to the top tomorrow night.

Re: fmic vs fuel

to be honest... the FMIC on stock turbos will lower the Horsepower, and the 550cc wont increase Horsepower because you got is S-AFC.
To do things right you will have get turbos, injectors, FMIC, and a Maping ECU at the same time. you really cant do one without the other without messing something up... you can go without the FMIC and be ok but you will probaly burst a hose or something, and with a bigger turbo its a MUST DO thing to get injectors and a maping ecu and get it dyno tuned a absolute MUST, its nothing a S-AFC can do, a S-AFC is just made minor adjustments.
