Door panel accident
Hi,
I was recently T-boned on a street, and my passenger side panels are shot. The skin took pretty much all the damage, but there's also a large dent my the door handle on the front passenger side. Both sides doors open and close and lock just fine. Back door is a little out of ailinment, and closes a little funny, but still useable. My goal is that I don't have to have a collision shop do all the work, so I can just pocket most of the cash. It's mostly just dealing with the door dent really, theres a couple scratches, nothing to cry about though, the mirror came off but I have something already arranged for that. Well, any suggestions? I can probally get you some pictures if you request. Thank you. |

Re: Door panel accident
welcome JobeSmith. I would go find a whole door at a salvage yard. Thats probley what the Body shop would do anyway. Then they'd pocket all the money.

Re: Door panel accident
Minor scratches could be fixed by very fine sanding / touch-up paint.
If the dent is small / shallow enough, you could possibly pull off your inner door panel and back-pick it.... or hell, even maybe try one of those "ding-kings" from TV!
