97 Sunfire, Wet Floor
I'm new to this forum, and am hoping someone can give me a suggestion. I have a 97 sunfire, 2dr. All summer, I have had this problem with a wet carpet on the floor infront of the back seat, passenger side. I suspect there is water coming up from underneath somewhere, but can't locate the source, and neither can my mechanic. It appears there when driving and there has been alot of rain, or after going thru a car wash. Has anyone else had this problem and better yet, solved the issue? Thanks!

Re: 97 Sunfire, Wet Floor
Welcome to the forum...
Check out this thread - http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=413081. When i took my car back to the dealer, they did not seem suprised to see this type of leak and the service advisor told me about another sunfire that he had seen where the whole wheel well filled up and started to spill into the back seat. Just a thought, hope this helps. Cheers |

Thanks... but another question..... you think I may able to find this leaky spot on my own? and can you pinpoint it a little better for me? I checked out the thread you left and saw the pictures... when it stops raining tonight, I may try to head outside and see if I can pull up the rug & check the trunk.

Try having a look there after driving in the rain or even going thru the car wash. If in fact it is leaking there and if the leak is bad enough you should not even have to pull back the carpet (it will be soaked). Happy leak hunting, hope you can find it
