Question no clue... wtf

Alright guys, so i just put on new spark plug wires and a couple of days later the shite hit the fan. Most every time i really hit the gas the car almost stalls out, only when i try to rev it up, if i just press the gas slightly it will run fine. So i was thinking it had to be something with the wires but i checked and all of the sparks are good. Then i made sure all the cylinders were running and they are. Then i looked at the throttle body and it looks good from what i can tell.

I just had changed tha spark plugs as well so those should be fine bu ti now have no idea what could be causing it. i did some research but couldnt find anything about it stalling only when reved up high (plus it doesnt completly stall just goes down to like 300 rpm and then if i let off the gass it will catch itself so im lost please give me some ideas thanks.

Re: no clue... wtf

well did you get the right plugs???? Maybe gapped to much or less or something. I dunno. I would assume everything is hooked up right since your getting actual spark. Is this on a totally stock engine or sr or what?

Ok...

Before ruining these plugs and washing all the oil off your cylinders walls with gas... Check the gap on the plugs most likely its too big. Stock gapping is .032 i believe

Re: no clue... wtf

Sounds like typical IACV or AIV problem to me.

sounds like the throttle position sensor possibly, i dont know though i had the same problem with my hardbody, a lot of similarities right. just something to think about but id look into the fuel delivery but who knows.

let me guess you can go fine to about half throttle then it cuts out?? if thats what it is its just like my hardbody and its in 'limp' mode, the ecu dont want anymore damage done, actually doesnt mean it is th tps, just that the ecu has the vehicle in the limp mode. it'll stay there til you fix the problem.

if thats what it is.

Re: no clue... wtf

There is no fuel leaking anywhere (checked injectors and underneath car and soft fuel lines). Ill clean the AIV after work tomorrow, mabye thats it, thanks. it does seem the same as your hardbody, "limp mode" is that a problem with the actual ECU or something mechanical that i can fix? Im pretty much willing to try anything, its really starting to get on my nerves because those damn civics think my car is shit now. anyway the fuel pump is a good upgrade anyway so thats cool, all the help is great guys. ohh... what is the output for the stock fuel pump? just wondering

what it is, the ecu wont let the motor rev too high until whatever problem has tripped a fault code has been fixed and the fault code is cleared
