I have a '99 Concorde LXi. Went to put the car in park the other day and it wouldn't go. Noticed over the past few weeks before that happened that the gears seemed a little hard to go into when moving the lever on the steering column upward ( like from Drive to Reverse then Park), but moving it downward is easy (from Park to Reverse then Drive). Any ideas?

Re: Car will not go into park
you could have a bad linkage that's binding or even the grommets for the shifter boss are worn.

Soooo
Nasty ... is that an expensive repair? Im a few notes a way from paying the car off ... This is like my first problem I've had with the car since I've had it and it has 115000 miles on it. Trying to decide if I want to keep it or trade it.

Re: Car will not go into park
as long as you don't have a 2.7 you are better off keeping it. Shifter cable isn't a expensive repair
