Cheepo Racing chip?

I just noticed i have no mesh grill on my front bumper and I went on ebay and found this http://cgi.ebay.com/90-95-05-MITSUBI...QQcmdZViewItem
Is this free chip worth it and is it safe?

Re: Cheepo Racing chip?

The mesh grill looks nice, and the price isnt bad. Its not expensive at all. The chip however I have never seen before. It works like other chips looking at the way they explained it. I hope some one else knows a little more about this chip than me. If I were you I think I would give it a try. For $20 its not that much.

That chip sounds like the ones that make the computer think that the car is pulling it 60F air when you are really pulling in like 100F air. Piece of crap if you ask me. Also from what Ive heard no chip really works good on our cars.

I agree, that isn't even really a "chip". You could prolly make that thing your self with a resistor. Junk.

You could probably go to like Home Depot and get some mesh for half that.

DO NOT put that chip in. They make your car think its taking in colder air than it is so it dumps the fuel in. Sure you might get some extra power, but you would be burning shit load of gas and you'll get lots of carbon build up.

If it makes you run rich then you would actually make less power.

lol It would cost me 5$ to drive all the way to Home Depot (its like 45 miles) to get the mesh @ $2.99 a gallon. So I would buy the pre-cut one and not worry about anything but putting it on.
