Changing Breaks?

i am trying to change the break pads but don't know how to get the breaks off the rotor. i've been trying to pry a little to push out some of the fluid but it's not doing much. i cannot remember if i need to unscrew anything besides the two bolts behind the breaks (not the one to the break line).

i know this is a simple thing but i can't afford to bring it in and must do it myself. Help will be appreciated. Thank you very much in advance :-)

Wow! This is not good. One side of my rotor was horribly warn because the breakpads were wearing wrong. The driver side was where the problem was. The inside breakpad was wearing bad and destroyed my rotor. Can anyone tell me what would cause this? Should i bleed my breakline (air in the lines cause this maybe?)?

air in the lines= spongy brake pedal...i don't think that was the cause

seized caliper and/or the sliding caliper pins...

the pins have to be lubricated well w/ high temp grease

u need a c-clamp & one of the old pads to slowly push the piston back into the caliper for the new pads.

if you have abs, you'll need to crack open the bleeder & while you're pushing the piston back in, the fluid will not go back into the system.

a mentor/friend that does this would be a great help; you don't want to screw this job & cause an accident!

Thank you for the info. i was wondering if it might be a caliper but i had problems with the master cylinder before and the break pedal felt similar. You're probably right though since the break wear was so odd.
