someone set me straight on motors and swap info.
i have a 95 impreza L 1.8L, i am deffinatly going to do a motor swap in the near future.... i had in my hopes and dreams to do a ej20t swap...but i hear its difficult... i found a j-spec. ej20 non turbo that is supposed to have 185 factory horsepower from nippon-motors.com. i called them and they say yes it is true it does have 185, which is kinda hard to believe but...they say my tranny will not bolt up to this motor, but ive heard other wise that it will...dependability isnt an issue, saying that if it will hold up just long enough to be drove while i can get another tranny, thats good enough for me...but if it doesnt, i will just take it off the road long enough to do the ej20t swap....someone help me out and tell me what all i will need to do this swap (ej20t and ej20) and if the non turbo motor really has 185?!?! and how much easier would it be to do... i appreciate any help, i dont want to do this and run into some "unforseen" expenses... thanks...

Rather have a plain old EJ25 than the high output NA EJ20 in my opinion. Cheaper, parts are easy to get and a better powerband.
