2002 Front Right RATTLE

I have a 2002 Tahoe with a very annoying rattle at 2000 rpms. It is metal on metal and sounds like it is in the front of the car on the passenger side. Any one have a clue as to what it may be.

Above and beyond 2000 RPMs I do not hear it. I had a local service manager ride with me and he heard it but had no clue as to what was causing it. The first time I had it in, the dealership told me it was being caused by a loose muffler... BUT THAT WAS NOT IT.

I have been told transfer case, torque converter, and /or catalytic converter by some friends....

PLease Help.

I have a 98 tahoe and had a rattle on the left side. I had my brakes done and one of the caliper bolts came loose. I tightned it up and the noise went away. But the bolt came loose again and so the rattle came back. Might have to use some loctite. Check and see if yours might have come loose. Hope this helps.

I know on the blazers the rattle was the hood hinges, place a piece of rubber under the bolt and it goes away

Any reputable GM dealer should have an electronic tool that finds and isolates squeaks and rattles. I had a rattle in my truck and the delaer found it pronto with one of those tools

I had a similar noise on my 2000 Tahoe almost like a squeak, rattle, knock. Come to find out that it was the fender support bracket thats over the battery on the drivers side was loose. A little socket spin was all it took.
