Question tranny/clutch problems

I'm a blonde female so please pardon the fact that I know very little about my car (besides its sexy as hell) Maybe someone can give me a tip on why my car is acting up... lol
the majority of the time when I go to put my car into reverse, it grinds and refuses to go into gear, I have to pretty much pump the clutch to get it to go into reverse, the people who have had the unique opertunity to drive my car all have had the same problem, though none of the other gears do it at all.
any suggestions on what the problem might be?
It's a manual '02 Firebird 3.8 V6 if that helps anything

Re: tranny/clutch problems

I had an older Firebird with a similar problem. Before I got it fixed, I found I could easily put it in reverse if I first put it in 1st gear, then immediatly put it into reverse. They told me it had something to to with the clutch linkage when I eventually got it repaired. It was repaired relatively quick and inexpensive, but again, it was a pretty old Bird.

Re: tranny/clutch problems

Wouldn't that be something that would be caused from wear? It has barely 19k miles on it
