Angry 94 lx v8 4.6L problems....HELP

I just got a 1994 thunderbird lx v8 4.6L and its doing several things
1. when you start the car in park, you can't shift to any other gears, but if you turn the key off you can switch the gears, so start in nuetral and then shift into drive and it goes into gear?????????????
2. sometimes the fuel tank button inside works and sometimes it don't same goes for the trunk button too.
3. once you've got the car started and shift into drive it does not go right away u have to give it alot of gas then the car starts to creep forward. once you start going though it's like the gear kicks in and it drives fine. Seems to go in reverse just fine though.
Also i just bought a brand new battery and cleaned the cables but its like its getting a bad connection sometimes will have power then turn it off and try to start again and nothing no power atcan someone anyone give me some suggestions on what it might be please.
thank you cin777l (cindy) my e-mail address is [email protected]
thanks again

Re: 94 lx v8 4.6L problems....HELP

1. Step on the brake before trying to shift.
2. Check all connections and grounds. Go to your library and ask for the Mitchell electrical manual for your year Bird and photocopy the pages you need for the two circuits.
3. Check the transmission fluid level. If you don't know when the trans. fluid and filter were replaced then now is a good time to do it. Be sure to drain the torque converter also.
4. Be sure the connections on the starter are clean and tight also. The ignition switch or starter might also be the problem but check connections first.
