New Fuel Tank

Well after inspecting my fuel leak I now know it is coming from a rusting fuel tank that has almost ate through. Have ordered a replacement due here Tuesday, 129.00 plus tax, and going to make the swap. Never done a tank swap before but am confident I can do it. I will let you all know how everything goes.

Also GirlBear, with that last pic I seen of your blazer your tank is going to end up like mine too if the mud is not cleaned out from under the plastic cover on the rear of the gas tank, its under the metal skid plate. That is exactly what got mine, mud from the dirt roads, and probally winter salt, getting built up behind it over time rusted the tank out.

Re: New Fuel Tank

You are lucky, the 1995 tanks are hard to get, 1996 are much easier to find.

Advance can order them if its the GM56A, mines a GM56B, for about the same I paid for mine. I got mine at a local store here in town though, didn't feel like driving the 15 miles to Advance to order and pay for it, and then again a few days later to pick it up.
