2001 Insight P1259 Trouble Code
While driving my car engine started to die and then the check engine light came on. Car started to drive fine, but when checked to see trouble codes, I had a P1259 VTEC code malfunction. I'm assuming P1259 is a VTEC code on the Insight. My freeze frame data is as follows.
Fuel Sys1: Open Loop Driving Calculated Load: 50% Coolant Temp: 197.6 deg F Short Term FT,B1:0.0% Long Term FT,B1: 0.0% Manifold Absolute Pressure: 14.8inHg Engine RPM: 4625RPM Speed: 53.1MPH Intake Air Temp: 116.6Deg F Throttle Position: 24.3% Any help will be appreciated.

check for open and shorts between ecu and vtec switch. test the vtec solenoid and switches for voltage contiuty, resistance.
if you dont understand, a haynes from your local parts store will have the diagrams and explanations in them for you.
