How long does a clutch usaly last? and also when replacing the clutch do you have to replace the flywheel?? Also do they make thoes performance chips for cavaliers like the ones that hypertec make? lastly what is a good web site for cavalier performance parts?

As to what you will replace, you will need to buy a clutch kit. It will come with a new cluch, pressure plate, and usually a installtion tool for alignment. You most likely won't have to purchase a new flywheel. You will however have to resurface your flywheel. The flywheel is much like brake rotors. You want to start with as perfect of surface as you can for your new clutch. If you don't resurface it, any imperfections such as groves, warpage, glazed over spots, etc will quickly damage your new clutch. The machine shop that resurfaces it will be able to tell you if it can be safely resurfaced/reused. If it can't be (too badly damaged, too thin, etc) then you will need to buy a new flywheel. You'll also want to pick up some brake cleaner to wash everything down as well as some break fluid to flush the system while you are at it.

Re: clutch
Well i don't think it is really going out i was just wondering how long they last. Only thing that i would think it is going out is if i start off in first gear and get a high rpm and trie to pop the clutch for second gear scratch, for one it don't do it and two it jearks a little and starts at a low rpm. So i am think about replacing it with a high performance clutch any ways. And get a light weight flywheele just to be safe.
