Torque Converter Install Question

I have just installed a replacement engine (D15B7) with another D15B7 (from a 94 civic) in my 93 Civic. My problem is that the tranny will not mount correctly because the torque converter will not install all the way on the input shaft. When I remove the converter the transmission will install just fine. Does anyone have any ideas as to why the torque converter will not reinstall on the input shaft properly?? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Check for damage on the shaft/converter. Or corrosion. Sometimes those are hard to get seated all the way, and you have to kinda wiggle it back and forth as you push. But DONT try to thread a bolt and put the trans and block together by tightening the bolt, you'll break something.

try and try again till it goes in. its not easy.

twist, push, twist push, twist, push.... it can take damn near forever, but eventually it'll just slip on.

Thanks, I'll keep on trying. Would it be appropriate to gent tap it with a piece of wood to try and coax it in? I need it to slide in about another 1/2 to 1 inch.

Do NOT hit it to get it in all the way, that can screw up splines, the converter or the input shaft.
