Driver side window problem

I just bought an 82 caprice classic. The driver's side window, only went down maybe 3 inch's.It has manual window's too.I took off the door panel, and found the problem. There is a plastic strip in a track, that goes from the bottom of the door, and make's a bend at the top, then goes down to the crank, well the plastic strip is smashed down.It has square hole's,in the middle of the strip, which is on the crank it has a roller, with a square bump, which the the strip fit's on to.Does anyone know how to remove, and install the strip, the window is bolted on to a trangle plastic piece, which is on a square like block that the plastic strip is some how connected to,that keep's the strip in the track.I just need to know how to fix this,if someone know's how.Thank's................

Re: Driver side window problem

I'm not exactly sure what needs to be done from your description (sorry ). If it comes to it, I have a complete drivers side track and crank setup that came out of an 84 Caprice which I stripped for parts. You can have it, just give me the money for shipping (which would probably be around $8-$10 To replace it you just drill out the rivets, and bolt in the new one. Let me know. I also have all the crank and track setups from all 3 other doors.
