American Muscle

it's been a while since i've posted, but this one i just gotta post it, well anyways, i dont race a lot of american muscle cars nor do i come across them very often, so i wasn't sure how this american muscle would act upon my slow import, anyways, the story, i came across this muscle car that looked very strange, it had two mufflers, yes, those mufflers you see on stock cars, not the fancy dual muffers you see on sportier cars but mufflers, not muffler tips, so i was thinking "wtf", it passed me pretty quick on the right side, his window was a little down and i saw an LCD screen of some sort and some gauges, i heard no turbo or a supercharge whine, so i'm thinking it must be some other sort of pressure or oil gauge, anyways, he looked pretty young with a bandana, so i'm like mind you, i dont mess with old folks, right away, i followed his tail, we came to a stop light and he reved at me, yep, definitely no t/c or s/c, so he must have some vacuum gauges or something, anyways, i revved back, letting him know i'm gonna go when the light turns green, well, light turns green and i punch it, my car gets off the line pretty quick (2300 lbs.) i get a couple car lengths ahead of him and wasn't sure if he took off or not, so i slowed down and see whatsup, i let him get a couple lengths ahead of me and slowly crept on him, when i got to his bumper he took off, ok, now he wants to race but didn't want to at the line? hmmm...anyways, i gave him a thumps up when i left the main street and he did a little rev back

so, my main concern about american muscle cars, they dont like racing at the line or something? only highway racing? hmmmm...

Re: American Muscle

Most american cars do better from a stop.

But, depends on what type of car it was... did you see what brand of 'american muscle' it was?

Re: American Muscle

You make it sound like you have to have forced induction to go fast..

most american muscle cars are built naturally aspirated with v8's.

Even so, you wont always hear a turbo or a supercharger.. especially over the roar of something like a v8..
