Bottoming out Century
Need advice on removing struts from spring-strut assembly on a '91 Buick Century. Have compressed spring but cannot get wench on piston rod nut because it is recessed in the upper support housing. I can get a socket on it but that covers the hex on the end of the piston shaft so the shaft can't be secured to remove the nut. Thanks for any advice.

Re: Bottoming out Century
an offset boxend wrench, mebbe?
or try to uncompress the spring to use the pressure to hold it while breaking the nut loose??? then recompress spring and try that boxend wrench/hex bit combo |
