Success!!!! Finally, sweet vindication!
I fixed the car! After the water pump started leaking again I pulled it all apart, cleaned the mating surfaces very very well. Used gasket sealer and made sure I had a good seam. Tightened everything down! Filled it...no leaks!!! No more overheating either.
The water pump was going bad. But, the reason why I didn't realize it earlier is that it was not making any unusual noises. The bearings were not siezing. It was just the opposite. The bearings were way to loose! I'm guessing that this was causing the impeller to slip on the shaft at high speeds. As a result, it overheated. Anyways, thanks for the help guys! I'll be around cause I'm sure I'll have another problem crop up.
