several questions

I have been trying to find out answers for these but i havent been able to find any.
1. this is not really a question but I was changing my rear brakes and the ones that I bought didnt fit. I went back to auto zone to see what was up and they started searching. I brought along one of the old brakes for reference. they found out that my rear brake pads are from an AWD, is this possible?

2. The charcoal canister is underneath the battery. there is a connection toowards the fuel tank, theres a connection from the purge solenoid to the air intake, and I want to know where the other connector labeled air(on top of the charcoal canister next to the fuel tank connection) is supposed to connect to or if its not connected to anything.

3. The turbocharger wastegate solenoid is supposed to connect to the air intake and then go to the turbo wastegate and then split connected to the turbo. on my turbo the solenoid is not connected to the air intake. the way its connected is by instead of connecting it to the air intake it is instead connected to the turbo, and the other line is connected to my boost controller, and then runs only to the wastegate. is this a better way of connecting the turbo solenoid?
