Bit of a Situation
Alright this is the situation...
I have a stock 95 3.4L automatic Camaro I have had it for almost a month now but cant find many upgrades available for my small V6.. After alot of thinking and analyzing i have came to a couple different conclusions... 1)Drop a LT1 engine in it which would also mean a swap of trannys and suspension... 2)Sell my Current camaro to buy a Z28 Ls1 or Trans-am Ws6 I know just gettin the new car would be easier but considering i still owe some on the car i have i think it might be more difficult.. if you could point me in the direction of somewere to find the upgrades for my 3.4 or were to get a bigger engine that wouldnt cause to many additional changes(tranny) Just dont talk about a 3.8 cause i think swapin that in would just be a waste of my time and money considering there isnt much difference between the two |

Re: Bit of a Situation
I suggest buying a new one myself.......unless your a pro with engine swaps....more money/ time with the swap.

Re: Bit of a Situation
I agree, while swapping in an engine would definately be cool, I think it's much easier to just go buy a different car.

Re: Bit of a Situation
Well I was kinda in that same situation a month ago, keep my v6 or go buy a Z28. I decided that between college, girlfriend (not anymore cheating **ut) and insurance/cell phone bill (etc), it wasn't worth it. So here are a couple sites to look into
fbodymotorsports.com lmperformance.com rksport.com slponline.com summitracing.com thunderracing.com (the best site for 3.4L) I have more if you want them but that should get you started

Re: Bit of a Situation
Alas, a fellow 3.4L owner. First off, ignore all the other comments made about getting rid of your car. There IS potential in the 3.4's, if your in fact willing to settle with the "little engine that could"

Re: Bit of a Situation
well even though the 3.8 is way better than a 3.4 swaping a v6 for another v6 is a big ass wast of time. if your gonna do it then go for the big guns. either that or do my number one thing.....thats right, spray the piss out of it. hell u can even make a mustang fast on spray. shit imports do it, how the hell u think they hang like they do. trick is u will have to build what u have to handle a bigger shot

Headers, no cat, and cat-back exhaust: $1000 Cold air intake: $200 Aluminum driveshaft: $150 (thanks to John) So that would be around $1,350 That just includes the performance parts I've bought. Doesn't include the cosmetics like my newer center console, my blackouts. Nor does it include things like spark plugs, wires, and other minor little things. As for the HP, well I'm uncertain. I'm aiming for 200hp if not more. I'm waiting to get my new rims before I take it to the dyno. I've got a nail in my passenger rear, and my front left one is patched. Thus, I haven't been driving it all that much. Plus I figure once I get the new rims, they'll be alot lighter so I'll be getting a little more torque to the wheels. After that, I'll be off to the track.

Re: Bit of a Situation
$1000 for a cat back system? A little too much.

Pacesetter ceramic coated headers: $338 Borla cat-back $555 = $893 + 400 Shop install fee (Which included fixing a problem with my header. Then running extra pipe from the header y-pipe to the start of the borla cat-back. And all the exhaust piping was welded) So total amount spent on exhaust was $1,293. Which IMO was well spent for the outcome I got.
