Re: which spark plugs?

No reason at all.

Delco's fire just as well and are far cheaper.

Re: which spark plugs?

i just put some bosch platinum +4 or something's in my 89 2 door coupe [4cyl]

they were like 2 bucks a piece @ advance auto parts... is that expensive? the delco ones that were in there weren't excessively worn/screwed up but i wanted to have as many fresh parts as possible

Re: which spark plugs?

Bosch are junk plugs, especially those +2, +3, +4 crap.

If you want to blow money, get some Denso Iridiums. $13-15 bucks a piece, but they do fire the hottest spark to my knowldge. I just replaced my delco's with new ones and found the old plugs were gapped all wrong at .030-.035 instead of .045-.050 . For wires i bought some Accell 8mm super stock wires which i had to make myself but it wasn't to hard cutting everything to length. If your just trying to diagnose a misfire or anything, don't buy the most expensive thing out there.

Re: which spark plugs?

i've gotten some bosch platinum plugs from a parts car i got. they were bairly used, so i put them into my cavy. I did notice the car running more smooth and better start-up. I didnt realize they were so expensive tho, like 13$ for 2 here in canada. so freebies are always good

Re: which spark plugs?

Well considering the AC-delco platinums are $7.99, I'm thinking I'll just go with the Bosch-platinums for $2.09.

Re: which spark plugs?

well the ac delco platinums are double-tipped; they have a center platinum electrode & a small platinum disc on the side electrode...

but u can get away w/ the bosch single platinums... just be sure to pull the plugs & recheck the gap every 2 years (also to prevent plug threads from seizing to cyl head--a bit o anti-seize helps)

as far as wires: just get a set that has lifetime warranty (w/ receipt of course) my sis' 97 2.2L had burned a wire one time... free replacement.
