ok 97 gst and i posted 2 threads on how it doesnt run right after i put new lifters in, but when i replaced the valve coverr gasket i pulled the old on offf to find that a piece of it was was cracked next to the first spark plug and when i started the car for the first time no oil came out but when i reveed it this is when it sounded like a goat cart so could a crack like that and also a new gasket for the valve cover make my car run like this should i buy new valve coveR?!?!?!?!? willl this fix my problem!!!!!!!!!!!!

well if you cant find a valve cover anytime soon,i would go get some jbweld in the mean time if you still have to drive it,that stuff drys real solid and i know alot of people that have used it,as for it causing these problems im not sure let someone else reply for that one

What do you mean by sounds like a go cart? Ticking, tapping, or something? The cracked valve cover won't make your engine have a funny sound.
