Best Radar Detector on the Market?

Hey, you all I know that some of you love street racing, so you guys would probably be good people to ask. Any opinions about what the best radar detector on the Market is for under $400.

A good pair of eyes is cheaper.

Re: Best Radar Detector on the Market?

I agree, though cops aren't always visible hence the radar detector.

Re: Best Radar Detector on the Market?

I didn't get a chance to read the article, but my tech fried told me that the k40 makes the best stuff. Cops have new equipment though like some kinda magentic strip thing that they supposidly use, which eliminates the used of a radar, so in that case a good pair of eyes is the best, but get a radar detector if you wish.

Re: Best Radar Detector on the Market?

I use a Cobra that I bought at Best Buy. For the first year and a half, I did just use a good set of eyes. They served me well. No tickets. And I sped much more back them than I do now. But after a few close-ish calls, I figured what the hell. The Cobra that I have usually gives me a good 1000ft of warning if they leave their radar on. And a lot of them do. V band(laser) or instant on K band, you should prolly just pull over.lol Mine detects X band, K band, KA band, V band and it actually picks up siren.lol It was worth $80 IMO.
Radar detector+good set of eyes>*

Re: Best Radar Detector on the Market?

Just get some sirens for your car instead. That way when the cops try to pull you over, you just smash on the brakes, let em fly by you, then pull their ass over for using those annoying ass lights to distract you and avert your eyes from the road. Or give them a damn citation for using that damn spotlight to blind you from seeing what's coming from behind. I swear, cops are idiots. Sure you notice them coming up on you, but they friggin blind you during the process, making it near impossible to pull over. Jeesh/rant.

I like it when they shine the spotlight into your side mirror. It helps them to see into your car so-as to spot any illegal substances. They really get pissy when you adjust your mirror so that it shines back at them. But that is usually followed by "Open your door with your hands outside the vehicle and walk backwards with your hands on top of your head to the sound of my voice!"

Re: Best Radar Detector on the Market?

Yeah, then they wonder why you are all "chink-eyed" when they approach you and ask for all your stuff. Then they question the hell out of you. Usually I say, "Officer, that spot light is killing my eyes. Could you please turn it off." And most times, I get a "No." Yep, cops are so friggin curteous.

Re: Best Radar Detector on the Market?

You guys are pretty funny. I have to say, I would have never thought about adjusting the mirror to point it in their eyes, how creative.

Re: Best Radar Detector on the Market?

You know what's even better, a gun. Just wait until they get real close........then BANG!!! No more cop, no ticket. Man, I'm going write a book. Better yet, a page. How to get rid of a cop in three simple steps:

1. Purchase gun from pawn shop. (Remember to wear gloves once you have purchased it. Don't need any other finger prints on there, except the dealers).

2. Speed, drive wreckless, whatever it takes to get pulled over.

3. Once pulled over, wait patiently until cop approaches the door. Then when he stands next to your car, let him have it!!

Congrats, you've successfully gotten out of trouble. Drive home safely, and sleep soundly at night.
