Aiming Headlights 2005 Xterra
Hi I just put new headlights in my 05 and the light seems to be aiming really low now. How do I adjust the aim on them. Any help would be great. Thanks

New "headlights" or new "bulbs"? Aiming your headlights should be outlined in your owners manual.

Sorry New bulbs. THe owners manual say's how to put them in but refers you to take it to the dealership to aim them. With the trouble I'm getting from the dealer fixing a seat I really don't want to take any thing to them unless I have to.

Re: Aiming Headlights 2005 Xterra
I don't have a 2005, but on older style lights you typically remove the front bezel and there are two screws, one on top, one on the side. Adjusting them in or out moves the light up and down. But looking at the 2005 photos that probably doesn't work the same. I would look for adjusting screws regardless (maybe not so helpful, sorry).

What type of Bulb did you replace with?
I just installed GE nighthawks today. I had silverstars in my prior vehicle a Jeep GC and they were great, but read a review on Consumer reports and they rated the GE nighthawk with equal if not better brightness, so I am trying them, they were also a little cheaper than the Silv. Stars. Not sure on the need for adjustment, If I have any trouble I will leave feedback. Al 2005 SE |

I used silver star. and they work fine. I think it was the bulbs I used that were causing the problem... I don't remember the brand though.
