Miyazaki garners more acclaim, Lifetime Achievement Award...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20050909/...enice_japan_dc

For anyone unfamiliar with Hayao Miyazaki, I pity you . If you have children and enjoyed sitting down with them to watch Shrek or Toy Story or any of the recent animated feature films, I urge you to run to the store to rent or buy Spirited Away or Princess Mononoke or Castle in the Sky or any of the numerous Studio Ghibli releases that have graced our shores over the years. While there may be some themes inherent in the films that some could consider on the "strong" side, it's the same as any child's fairy tale book -- no matter how much you sugarcoat it, the Big Bad Wolf can be a scary dude, and the Three Billy Goats Gruff rather menacing. That being said, These are absolutely phenomenal movies for the whole family to watch, as they're beautifully drawn, with incredibly complex characters and brilliant plots worthy of any classic fairy tale. Anyone who's gotten a kick out of the "Radish Spirit" will back me up.

These are the rare kind of movies that leave you feeling like you've actually just had a magical experience, like when you were young. And there are all sorts of lessons to be learned from them as well. Do yourself a favor and watch these films when movie night rolls around, you'll be glad you did
