Sunfire rear speakers

I just happened to find this site and ran across complaints about the rear speakers in a sunfire. I have a 2000 sunfire and, yes, the rear speakers intermitently work and then do not work. The dealership put a voltage reader to the speakers in the trunk and said that they were dead. Yeah right. They are obviously covering up a huge problem that they don't want to become a recall! I also had the radio replaced a couple of times under warranty only to find that the "new" radios they put in didn't have the "back-light" illuminating the digital display. I finally gave up with the whole gm radio garbage. It's a shame.
