High Pitch Whistle in 05 4cyl

I've had my car for about 2 months now, and I noticed from the first week, a high pitched whistle when I'm going between 65 and 80 mph.

It seems to have something to do with rpm levels around 2000-2500.

You can hardly hear it until you do hear it, then it sticks in your head.

I asked the service guy at the dealer, and we took a ride in his 05 accord lx(same as mine) it did the same thing.

I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced this sound, and if they found any way to fix it.

I have no modifications to the car, it is completely stock(except for the radio).

Thanks.

Are you sure its only between those speeds? It sounds more like alt. whine coming through the speakers. Is it only when your stereo is on? I had the same problem a long time ago with my amp, but that was only cause my connections weren't the best.

Yep, I'm sure.

I've driven with the radio off, A/C off. It happened before I installed my radio.

Someone from another forum told me he thought it was from the throttle body, and it needed to be bored out.

Does this happen only when you are driving?

If yes, it's definitely the wind noise somewhere.

If no, it's somewhere in the engine area.

Yep, always while driving.

Sounds like the air intake is whisteling to me.

Not sure, I put the car in 3rd(d3) to see if the same rpm range produced the same sound at a different speed. While i did hear the sound a little around 2200 rpms, it was not really the same.

The service guy at the dealer said that is was a normal intake/exhaust sound. But then when I talked to him a week later, he complained that now that he has heard the sound, he can't stop hearing it in his own car. :-)

Re: High Pitch Whistle in 05 4cyl

Umm, I've owned 2 fords and a gm, and have driven 3 different chevy trucks, and driven 2 different ford trucks, and both have makes have died on me before 150k miles. And thats with all the fluid changes required. And you're telling me that we should have bought domestics, when imports last soooo much longer?

How many 85 fords and gm's do you see driving around... Not too many, now, how many imports of that year driving around? A whole lot more.

im sure its normal, because in my dads old tundra after he installed a K&N air filter, some where around 2500rpm or higher you would hear a whistling sound, im pretty sure its that or just the wind noise, put the car in park and rev it, see if it does it
