Window motor replacement
Well, the time has come for me to replace my window motor. The driver side is pretty much worn out, but I went ahead and bought two motors so when the passenger side window goes out I'll already have the motor in hand. I know some of you guys here have already done this, so I'm wondering if some of ya'll can give me some pointers, things to look out for, do's/dont's, problems you ran into, etc. I've already read the install guide at www.shbox.com and pretty much got the basics of what I'm gonna have to do. Just wondering if that site may have overlooked a thing or two, or which parts of the swap is gonna be a real PITA. Just some tips that will help make the swap out a little easier. I've heard nothing but complaints about how difficult it was. Which, really doesn't make me look forward to it at all.
But after having my interior get drenched from the rain several times because I couldn't get the window up, and end up having to sit outside with an umbrella waiting for the motor to cool down so I can get the dang thing up.. I've pretty much had enough with it and figure it's time to fix her.

Yeah.. have a friend to help you hold the window when you're doing this.. or atleast I had to do that when I put mine in, but man once this is done, you'll be so glad and happy. It's worth it.

Well, I would do it... problem is, I'm still waiting for the motors to arrive in the mail (got em off ebay). Otherwise, trust me, it would have been done already. Figured since I gotta wait for them to come in, might as well see if anyone has any suggestions.

Every time I change a window motor I take the regulator out of the door, that way if I have to drill anything like rivets I don't have to worry about hitting anything else or damaging the door. Plus you don't have to worry about the window falling as it has to come out for the regualtor to come out.

The shoebox directions are pretty dead on, I can't think of anything that is left out.
