rebuild GS-T
I have a 95 gs-t and it has about 120k miles. i want to do an engine rebuild. what parts do you suggest that i put into my engine? my friend told me to put in low compression pistons. i am going to tear appart the head and block. i want to make it run really good. are there any parts that are a must?

Try slowboyracing for a stroker kit. That would be a nice upgrade.

Re: rebuild GS-T
You're not going to rebuild any engine for less than $2000, no way. Unless you're best buddies with someone at a machine shop.

Re: rebuild GS-T
Bullsh*t... -Josh- you have got to be kidding... You can build a 2.4 slowboy stroker for less than 2 grand... I just rebuilt the motor in my Gs-t. Total cost for pistons, rings, all bearings and gaskets... under 500 (with a shaved head). Rebuild kits are 350.00 from slowboy. Compression test reads 165 across the board

Re: rebuild GS-T
Meh, i've never seen it done, but if you guys have done it, i suppose it's possible.
Cost a friend and i about 2200 to rebuild his 3.8....different engine i know. That's good to know though for when i rebuild my engine...coming soon...probably next summer. Edit: After some more research you guys are right, my bad. I dont take into account the availbility of aftermarket on these cars as compared to the GM 3.8. But now i'm all excited to rebuild mine...lol |
