My 01 impalas gas gauge started acting up it is either on E not working or pegged at full .Any ideas?

Its a 'common' enough problem that there was a posted how-to fix for it, its generally a bad Gas sensor.

off the topic, but speaking of gauges...anyone know how do calibrate a guage clustor? aside from taking it to the dealer....thanks.
