93 Mustang 5.0 vs. 2002 S2000

this was just funny...
course i hate mustangs to begin with .. but there are 2 5.0's playin with eachother on the freeway. out on 5 just north of town...
and they are kinda blockin traficc in those 2 lanes.. so i'm just drivin
ya know like 80 or something nothing special ..
and as i pass one the other drops it so i don't catch them.. god forbid...
so i toss it down and put a little gas on it.. and i swerve round a few cars, and then he's behind me and tryin to follow..... so i fake left.. i know it sounds dumb.. then i take off in the brake down lane. and pass 3 cars, then hop back on the freeway.. and needless to say he was out of sight at that point...
i wasn't trying too hard or anything but when i looked down i was only doin like 115, so i guess i didn't have to try... oh well
it was fun anyway
silly mustangs, vtec is for hondas...

Dude, you have an S2000? OMG....
Wanna marry my sister? She has really good college grades and she's really nice.... I guess she's pretty coz guys hit up on her, I don't check her out though... C'mon...

You automatically kick ass for having that car.

Oh and yeah Mustangs are kind of lame. There was this Cobra that thought he was the bad ass of all badasses at the race meet in 909 area. To cut the story short, a hatchback with a GSR motor with, i/h/e and slicks broke him off nasty.

And then another Mustang showed up, but this was a GT with a moderately built up motor, and HE thought he was Papadakis to all of us. Well my friend has a CRX Si with a japspec B16a, head package, stage II clutch, i/h/e, performance chip and slicks. You don't need to know the rest.

95 5.0s are not even in your class. something like 230hp in a 3400 pound car

S2 and i can walk on those cars. I do it all the time

a modded 5.0 is a lethal thing though

Yeah, I believe those heavy bastards run about mid to low 15's, and you need to be a good driver to take one up for a good run too.

I have only ran one, and that was when I was STOCK, and I beat that guy. It was a 93 5.0, 5 speed too. He peeled out for too long and his second gear didn't have much of a torque curve. By the time he started catching up... I already hit the 1/4 mark.

Oh and my friend's GSR, he takes out 5.0's like he takes out Civic EX's, it's rather sad when you think about it.

5.0's actually have 215 hp, but they have 290 lbs. of torque. Which means one thing, peeling out like mad and never going anywhere.
(Reminds me of the Spec V test drive)

An si with an intake and a good driver can break off a GT.

Don't mess with Cobra's though.

Right now I'm back in my old home town El Centro about an hour and a half east of SD. I actually live in Claremont, not the Claremont where Pann Auto is in SD, but the Claremont in the 909, LA area.

Hell yeah dude I'd love to check that car out, you can even take me on the freeway and let me hear the roar of the VTEC.

Yeah I'll take my sister, she's graduating from SDSU this October with a degree in telecommunications.

Actually, the last year of the relentlessly torquey 5.0 was 95, the new generation mustang was made in 1994, but Ford hadn't finished with their gas-saving 4.6 motor yet, it wasn't operational, so they just lowered the compression on the 5.0, threw in a smaller fuel injection system and left them on the lot. The first year that the 4.6L Mustang GT/Cobra came out was 1996.
Oh and they still don't have 5.0 liter 302's anymore. The Saleen S281 is powered by the same 4.6 liter motor, the cylinder head is ported and polished though. But you'll still break off a Saleen really dirty, unless it's an S281SC or a S351, those are the sports car versions, but an S281SC retails in at about 38,000$, a little more pricey than an S2K, and the S351 is about 55,000$ or more.

The fact that you don't look for Stangs to race, proves that you will never have any problems with Cobra's, because guys with Cobra's don't drive around on freeways looking for races, and most guys that have Cobra's only take them out late at night on weekends. So you won't catch one willing to race on your way home from work or a g/f's pad or something.

Oh and an S2000 runs 13.8, and a 99+ Cobra runs 13.2-13.5 with a REALLY EXCEPTIONAL driver... In an S2000 you just have to drop the clutch at about 6000 rpm, and you're a trained killer at the track, in a Cobra, (I've driven one before), the wrong foot will make you fish tail and the wrong rpm will make you bog out and picking the wrong time to floor it will make you slip all your first gear. You have to set your rpm to about 2800, then drop the clutch have way, pace the gas and when you're at about 5300 rpm (5500 rpm is the beginning of redline on Cobras/GT's) you upshift to second, but stomp on the gas before you pop the clutch again causing a mean second gear chirp that get's you going in second, then you can use regular driving to finish the rest. Pretty complicated huh?
I've seen Cobra's run 14.2-14.5 at the track. I was inside an Integra Type R, (old friend of mine), and we were on 10 east in LA, and there was a cobra, he was going like 80 already, my friend downshifted to third, but he let the Cobra floor it first, it was a 96 cobra, black, and when he downshifted he actually caught up to the Cobra and started pulling on it. (I love Type R's) The Cobra eventually caught up and beat my friend, but come on, the 1/4 finishes at about 90 mph, we were going 125 when the Cobra started to CATCH UP.

i watched a video one time of a type R pulling on a cobra on the highway. it had pulled about even with the stang and then blew the tranny. You could hear the passenger say aww shit can you get any gear?

I have that same video. I love the sound of the Type R.
The reason he fukked up the tranny is because he left in third gear when he was going like 85-80, and he kept in that gear, letting off the gas, pressing the gas, and he was doing that for at least 10 minutes before the Mustang even started gunning it, and then the guy in the teg floored it which really put work on his tranny.
