Accident! Any suggestions!?
Hey all,
Well, basically, I was dumb. Thats what it all comes down to. I was driving back from NC to my apt in Orlando, and it was late, and I had class the next day. It started to downpour, and me, not thinking slowed down from 90 to about 80. Yeah, def no where near enough. I started hydroplanning, and I almost regained control, but overcorrected too much and slammed into the median guardrail. I was extremely fortunate in that I was not hurt, I am very grateful. But my car was not so lucky. I slammed the passenger side pretty bad, toar up the front and rear quarterpanels bad enough that I will have to replace them, and have a nice long scratch down the door, and busted the gas cap. All this 6 months after my dad and I painted her DAMN! And that was just the cosmetic. It was steering extermely erraticaly and my suspostions of a bent upper control arm were reinforced by the 'experts at midas', along with their suggestion of a broken spindle. Great. Plus the frame is probably bent.
So thats just great. Anyone with any suggestions at all? Midas is quoting me almost $500 for parts and labor, which doesn't include any frame work or cosmetic, of course. Which seems rather pricey. I would like to do it myself, but I am a full time student away from my father's garage. Thanks for any help/support/opinions (other than that I was a dumbass, which I wholeheardtly agree with).
