stupid, lazy, unemployed, usless, stinky roommate

i have a roommate that is 5 months late on rent and utilities, i cannot kick him out because of the lease, but im thinking of calling the police on him for theft.... can i pull that off?? since ha hasn't paid for the power, internet, water, food! I should add that he doesn't go out of his room except to go to mommies house to get food. I bought a fridge and freezer for my room. All he does is play World of Warcraft all day/night.

you must remember he is on the lease too..... him mom has kicked him out 2 or 3 times. The other problem is he can't keep a job always gets fired

Change the lock on the door to the apartment and start repoing some of his stuff.

Seriously, though, try cutting off the power. Maybe he has money and is just seeing how long he can postpone payment.

I've been through many situations like that through my college years and it was not fun. You pretty much can't do anything until the lease is up because if the payments are late, both of your credits gets screwed.

If you do decide to wait until the lease is up and sue him, make sure you keep track of interest of the funds he owes you for the utilities.

Are you paying for everything 100% right now by yourself? Then bring him to small claims court. The limit is 5,000 bucks. If you wait until the end of the lease, you will probably be over 5,000 wouldn't he?

If his name is on the lease, he is under contract to pay rent. You need to talk to the landlord/apartment people. His name being on that dotted line obligates him to do a lot of things.

not only is he on the lease.... but his parents co-signed the lease b/c neither of the other 2 guys had any credit. If my credit wouldn't get affected, i'd stop paying rent.

Everymonth, so..1293 a month. When you should be paying 646.50. Think of how much money is going down the drain like this man..keep all your reciepts and bills you send out for everything you pay monthly, then in court you can clearly show you paid for 100% of the cost, and he obviously didn't meet his part of the lease.

well, just before my last post... while looking at houses my relator told my parents about my useless roommate. i was so embarrassed; i wanted to kill myself right there. god, they were furious. i don't understand why they were freaking out.... i mean its my fault.

That guy sounds like my step brother. Welfar loser ass mother fu___s I hate people that can not get off there ass and pay for there own shit. My step brother got 4grand back from taxes for 2004 and spent it in a weekend. lol Next year we are paying for him to go to the Carabian...I feel your pain.
