remote programming

Can anyone tell me how to program new keyless remotes for a 1998 Z-71. I dont have any of the old ones, but I know that the truck was originally equipped with them and I dont want to pay a dealership for 5 minutes of work.

I don't know if the 98's are the same as my 97, but it is pretty easy to program the remotes. There is a data port connection right under the dash, under the steering wheel. it is wider at the top then the bottom, looking at the connector, counting from left to right on the wide (top) section. jumper out pins 4 and 8, like with a thin paper clip or jumper wires. When you do this the door locks will activate (lock and unlock) after they do that, Hold down the lock and unlock buttons on your remote (both buttons, lock and unlock) at the same time after about 10 seconds or so, the door locks will activate, remove the jumper, your done..---hope this helps.

Re: remote programming

That is correct as posted above for the 97-98 models.

Will this work for a 1995 model?

Thanks.
