Anyone believe in Fate??

Don't get me wrong by the title, i'm not an overly religious person. I go to church on occasional holidays and not much else. I was wondering if anyone believes in fate....predetermined events that happen for a reason.

Michelle and i had dated for about a year. The past couple of weeks me and my (ex)girlfriend Michelle haven't been getting along. I was planning to go back home (im in college about 80 miles away) and talk it over w/ her. I was starting to realize that this was probably going to be the end of it so i wasn't having a good week. In one of my classes in school i met this girl that i met about a year ago...when we met the first time we really clicked, but it was only for one day. After that day we both went our seperate ways knowing that we'd probably never see each other again. Anyway so when i was in my worst part of the "breakup" w/ Michelle, this girl shows up. We've been hanging out constantly.....and she's made this break up a lot easier.

Do you guys think that this is fate or what?? I never thought i'd see her again and she didn't think so either, but look what happened.

Anyone else have anything happen like this or anything else that you'd just call "FATE"?? I never really believed this kinda thing, but now i don't have a choice to not believe.

yeah its great when something like that happens, but its a rarity. If I want something to happen its up to me. Plus its easier to keep something you've worked for. I met a girl who was CONVINCED we were fate..... I don't talk to her.

Just had to ask....but yeah i don't like the thought of not being in control of my own life. At the same time i don't think that she could have shown up at a better time. Fate or good timing....either way i'm happy!

Nothing is fixed, you guide your own fate. If I chose to drop out of school and sit on my ass, I'll end up a bum. Keep struggling and graduate, odds are, I'll have a job and won't be a bum...and a host of options inbetween and beyond...there's a lot we cannot change within reasonable effort (I'll probably never be President) but there is a lot we can (finish school? Marry so-n-so? Have kids? Move state? etc etc etc).

I believe in fate.. not big in religion either but it's just something I believe in, and thats it.
