Exclamation My Cougar Won't Start

I own 1996 Mecury Cougar XR7 4.6L Supercharged car. I try to turn the car on and all the lights in the dashboard will pop up but all you hear is 2 clicks when the engine is supposed to start. I already went out and bought a new battery and it still won't start. Supposed to be going out of town town tommrow. I need help!!! Someone help me please!

Sounds like the starter.
Is the supercharger after-market?

Nope came built with the supercharged engine. Starter works great. It turned over normally today. Might be a battery wire short. I dunno.
