I have a 96 max. that won't start. I know for sure it is not the battery and it is not the starter. this is an intermittent problem. When it won't start I turn the key and nothing happens no noise, no clicking nothing. also when this happens I can't get my car out of park it is like the shift lock is on. someone told me they thought it was the nuetral switch but I just got laid off and I can't afford to put alot of money into. can someone please help

Lots similarities with 3gen, so check out start circuit etc: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/1 Take all relays out, check pin conditions. Also fuses under hood. Connectors... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/14 .
