RB20DET engine part

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what this part is on the intake side of the RB20DET?
Don't mind the hand drawn arrow...

Thanks!

Would the new BOV attach to any of the piping of the old BOV?

it's a pretty common fitment, i'm sure some companies make a bov that bolts right up, if not a simple adapter could be made to save you cutting holes in your pipe work. if you get a plumback it should connect to the old recirc. pipe and the standard vacuum line as per the old bov.

as cadet said, you should be able to bolt it right on. I used to have an HKS supersound bov on my soarer (1g-gt). normally, the piping is made so that you can use the stock pipe sleeves.

the only issue with BOV'S on skylines is the cause the car to stall if not set up right. cause it vent to much air to quickly (I think)
cheers

This is my engine with a Greddy BOV. It just doesn't bolt right on and an adapter plate had to be made.

If you install a non-recirc blow-off valve it will vent air that has been metered by the AFM, hence the car will run rich and stall sometimes. You need to get a piggyback device (which name I can't remember) to fix it, or go for an aftermarket ECU and use MAP sensing instead of the AFM.
