82 22r carb problems

Please help, 82 pickup 4x4 runs great but will not start without start fluid or gas added to carb. once started runs perfect. replaced fuel filter didnt help. checked the aux accelerator pump diaphram, it is fine. thanks

Did you check to see if the float is not saturated?

Sounds like a bad throttle pump, take air cleaner off have someone pump throttle do you see gas squirting in the carb throat if not bad throttle pump!!

I think you are right, I manually moved the throttle linkage by hand and there is no gas. Where is the throttle pump located?
