Unhappy Transmission 1995 buick lesabre

I have a 1995 buick lesabre, i just bought it and have no history on it. it appears that it is not going into first gear, rather starting off in second gear, so i have no power at take off, it does however seem to shift into 3rd but not overdrive. down shifting it also does not appear to shift into first but staying in second, computer check says F31 transmission solenoid failure code P0325. can this be changed out easy? would it cause it to stay in second gear? would it also effect the overdrive? please HELP..

I don't see that code as a solenoid, it should be scanned with a trans capable scanner that can command and verify solenoid operation. The trans is in limp mode, don't drive it any more than getting to a shop with the proper diagnostics.

Had it put on a computer said something like B2 soleniod is out, overdrive does seem to work after checking a little more, but still no first gear, downshifting will not go into first and on take off its in second gear so very slow take off. am talking to dealer tomorrow were i bought it to see what they intend to do, local transmition shop says its a $800.00 Fix, soleniod only cost $26.00. Might see if i can do it myself just need to see if i can find books to help. if anyone can be of more assistance please contact me. also if anyone is in need of a 88 buick lesabre dash computer let me know, am junking car and had just bought one, engine has rod knock and i have already replaced rod bearings. will sell whole car for right price.

Make sure the main connector to the trans is making a good connection, take it off and look for corrosion clean up and reinstall, see what happens.

sorry

Didnt mean to try to sell my computer, thought the no selling was for dealers, once again i appologise. Still waiting on dealer to get back to me to see what they are going to do. Would that connector make it so it would not go into first gear? were is ths connector, is it the one on the drivers side toward the front of the vehicle? if so i have checked that one for connection, but i may have overlooked or missed a connector.

Only one main connector on the trans, as I said once there is a serious malfunction electrically the trans goes to limp mode as commanded by the pcm, the solenoid could be bad, but wiring can be suspect too.
