AC problems!
Hi All,
I've searched this forum and can't find the answer to my problem...so here it goes. We bought a 95 Blazer LT 4x4. AC runs hot so took it to the mechanic. It had too much freon in it so they vacuumed it and put the correct amount in. Still not working. The mechanic thinks it may be an electrical problem somewhere. He ran out of time and wants me to bring it back so he can "trace wires". My husband looked at it, the compressor is not kicking on at all. There is apparently a censor that will keep it from kicking on if the freon level isn't right....but the mechanic did fix that. Husband also said the clutch that is mounted to the compressor in not engaging. So, I'd love to get some opinions before we go pay another $70 for diagnosis. My husband fixes A LOT of stuff on our vehicles and he'll read your replies to see if he can tackle this one (I pray so!)! Thanks in advance!! |

Re: Re: AC problems!
Husband needs to know, is the low pressure switch located in front or on the back of the compressor?

Re: AC problems!
Are there any wires on the accumulator itself? Not sure as to location of that switch as no parts show for that year vehicle on autozone but on my 91 i have a connector on the accumulator

Re: Re: Re: AC problems!
You want to jumper the round switch on the accumulator. Have the AC on MAX. Jumper the sensor on the wire, not the contacts on the accumulator.

Re: Re: AC problems!
Eureka! He found it, thanks to yall! It's the accumulator switch. The clutch kicked on when he put the screwdriver to the connector part...does that make sense? Anyway, he said that's what it is...now just to get the part from Autozone!
